Erm...a poem?

Well would you look here-

You’ve written a rhyme,

Explaining why

You have no more time.

Suppose you shall show them

A typical day

Because you lack all other

Good words to say.

Don’t fear the silence

That thrives in the car.

Relax and chill out;

Your school isn’t far.

Walk up to class,

As the ringing bell ends.

Nod your head and wave

To your happy friends.

Meet the girl’s eyes,

Then sigh; look away –

Long ago you ran out

Of the right words to say.

Still softly recite

Your silent prayer.

Although she’s grown distant,

She is still there.

Stop looking through

The window’s glass.

Take time to note changes

Going on in your class.

Spanish is done;

Your morning’s half over,

But Mrs. C’s mad,

And none know what drove her.

Family Life skills

Is done in a blink.

Get up, slowly now,

And take a long drink.

Rest; fall asleep

In Biology.

Hope and dream

That the teacher won’t see.

Talk with your homeroom

At lunch, while you eat.

Then finish your homework

That’s still incomplete.

The next two classes

Pass by very slow.

What were they about?

You really don’t know.

English arrives;

You guess life’s not fair,

Or, at least, so it seems,

If your name is Jane Eyre.

Rush back to homeroom,

Drop off your things.

Now head to the room where

The choir simply sings.

Don’t dream about summer,

Just don’t dream at all,

For now you must go

Manage basketball.

Two hours go by.

Homework? Still more.

That’s all shoved aside

As you watch twenty-four.

You turn on the TV,

“Very stable, well done,”

It compliments you.

Isn’t wii fit great fun?

You had Marial over;

Y’all made woopie cake.

Though somehow you’re grounded

From her till Spring break.

Look Forward

To Spirit Week -

Who can be the biggest freak?

You must go to your room

So you read or you play.

Then you open the Word,

And you listen and pray

For the girl that you saw

And the boy in that chair,

And the ones you see hurting,

Because someone should care.

Listen to music,

Leave your conscious world,

And watch as the dream boat

Drifts off, sails unfurled.
